Easy to mix and use. A very pliable and smooth dough like clay allows you to form a variety of jewelry and sculpture objects. We use jewelry grade copper, bronze and brass for a superior product that is easy to handle and form. As with most metal clays, these products are subject to oxidation. We recommend drying your work with a fan driven food dehydrator, immediately after forming an object. This will allow the water to evaporate completely, preventing oxidation that could cause sintering to fail when fired. (Allow 48 hours to achieve a bone dry item. ) Heat drying in a oven may be done faster... but initial drying should be done on a dehydrator to avoid internal oxidation from too mush moisture trapped inside for a long period of time. There are many books, and many firing methods for Copper, Bronze and Brass clays. Geneva Perkins, author of GlasClay THE BOOK!, has written a new book called Metal ManiaTM Metal Clay Basics! We endorse this book. It is the only book on the market designed for use with our Copper ClayTM , Bronze Clay and BrasClayTM. Instructions are provided with each purchase. They are a guideline for use, and do not restrict the artist from trying a variety of methods.
50g for $19.95 AND 100g for $34.95
Claymania Art Clays all require a kiln with a digital controller for firing. Metal clays require a stainless steel firing pan and activated charcoal. We recommend activated coconut charcoal for our products. You may also fire without charcoal by using a method that entails wrapping your work in newspaper, and filling the firing pan with newspaper. Test your own ideas!
We also offer:
GLASCLAY! TM (patent pending)
Glass in a cold, clay-like form you can mold into jewelry, scuplture, hollow or 3 dimensional objects, and fire in your kiln, without using a mold. (Requires a digital temperature controller for inputting firing schedules.)
